Maastricht University Language Centre is the place where university students and staff, as well as other people from other areas of Holland and business people from all over the region come to learn foreign languages.

A team of over 60 experienced language teachers provides language courses in Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Japanese, Swedish, Modern Greek, Turkish and Chinese.

The language centre has gained a considerable reputation for teaching Languages for Specific Purposes (LSP). The institute has accumulated extensive experience in providing language training for the civil service and business communities, including individual language learning programmes. The classes are basically small (about 12 people) and the didactic methods are innovative and student-centred. The staff consists of highly qualified professionals specialised in their subject. They are involved in numerous international collaborative networks and research projects in the field of language training.
