The Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco

The Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco is a public institution of higher education created in 1980. It is located in Castelo Branco, a town in the inland parts of Portugal.

With six Schools, 39 degree courses, high level teaching and research departments, accommodation, high quality sport facilities and with very efficient connections to the market and the surrounding community, the "Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco" is nowadays a modern and solid Institution with high standards of quality.

Its main objectives are initial, continuing and specialized training course for highly competent professionals, scientific and technological research, provision of services to the community and the promotion of regional development.

The IPCB is a member of the Associação das Universidades de Língua Portuguesa (Association of the Portuguese Language Universities), of the Associação Universitária Ibero-Americana de Pós-Graduação (Ibero-American University Association of Post-graduation Courses) and of the Associação dos Institutos Politécnicos do Centro - POLITÉCNICA, holding presently its presidency.
The courses taught at the IPCB combine strong practical and technical training with theoretical frameworks at the highest scientific level, preparing competent professionals.
